A career. A perfect future. Everything he could wish for. That’s what Corporal Jesse ‘Jazz’ Connor thinks about his life. He can’t understand why his comrades feel the need to find a girl and settle down when the Army career latter has so many steps to climb. Up, up, up; that’s where he’s looking – and that’s the reason, too, why he stumbles over the only thing that maybe can change his view on life forever: Tessa.

No job. No plan. An open future. That’s how Tessa Connor likes to see her life as she starts a trip to see some friends half way across the world. And Jazz will be her first step to the new Tessa. Build up your confidence; show the world what you can do, that’s her new motto. Together they need to find a way to make A and B come together with an ocean between them that threatens to drown everything – maybe even their love.

Once upon a time there was a young girl with her head full of dreams and her heart full of stories. Her parents, though not a unit, always supported her and told her more stories, encouraging her to become what she wanted to be. The problem was, young Sam didn't know what she wanted to be, so after getting her A-levels she started studying Computer Science and Media. After not even one year she realized it wasn't what her heart wanted, and so she stopped, staying home and trying to find her purpose in life. Through some detours she landed an internship and eventually an apprenticeship in a company that sells cell phones. Not a dreamy career, but hey. Today she's doing an accounting job from nine-to-five, which mainly consists of daydreaming and scribbling notes wherever she can.

All through that time little Sam never once lost the stories in her heart, writing a few little of them here and there, writing for and with her best friend, who always told her to take that last step. Only when a certain twin-couple entered her mind, bothering her with ideas and talking to her nonstop did she start to write down their story - getting as far as thinking she could finish it. Through the help of some author friends, and the encouragement of earlier mentioned best friend, little Sam, now not so little anymore and in her twenty-seventh year, decided to try her luck as an Indie author. She finished the story of the first twin, Jaden, and realized she couldn't ever stop. So, it is only after five that the real Sam comes out. The one that hungers for love, romance, some blood, a good story, and, at the end of the day, a nice hot cup of Chai Tea Latte.

And if the boys are still talking to her, she'll write happily ever after.

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Dakota Madison returns with another spicy sports romance. This story set in the world of college basketball.

Neuroscience student SEDONA MILLER is perfectly imperfect. She’s slightly nerdy and slightly eccentric, but completely brilliant.

When an unfortunate accident leaves Sedona with an injured arm and she’s fired from her part-time job shelving books at the university library she has to find a new gig fast.

The only job available mid-semester is working as a tutor for the athletic academic center. And the notorious bad boy of the university’s basketball team, JESSE WALKER, is the one and only guy on the new tutor’s roster

But when SEDONA discovers a secret that could ruin the school’s winning basketball team doing the right thing could mean destroying the only guy she’s ever loved.

excerpt

When I finally hit the last room in a long row of rooms I see a guy sitting there looking bored and staring at two fast food containers in front of him on the table.

He glances up at me when I enter. The first thing I notice is his piercing green eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen eyes that green on a human being that weren’t Photoshopped

The second thing I notice is his messy, light brown hair. It doesn’t look like it’s been combed it in a week. It makes me wonder if it’s some new hair trend or if he just doesn’t bother to style it. Not that I have too much room to talk when it comes to hair. My curly red mop has been the bane of my existence since I was a kid. About the only thing I can ever do with it is pull it back into a pony tail.

“Sedona?”

I nod.

“Have a seat.” He points to the chair right next to him.

I remember Lewis’s warning and take a seat across the table instead. I want to be as close to the door as possible. The guy is big and muscular and much more intimidating than I imagined he’d be.

My heart is thumping in my chest because his size and rough demeanor are making me nervous.

When he pushes one of the fast food containers in my direction I cringe. I rarely eat fast food and when I do it’s from Just Veggies, an organic vegetarian place near campus.

He doesn’t hesitate to open his container and take a bite of the messy burger that’s dripping some kind of white sauce all over his pile of fries.

My stomach turns in response.

“I bought you a burger.” He points to the second container he’s pushed in my direction. “Ambrose scheduled our sessions during lunch.”

I make a point of pushing the container back over to him. “No thank you.”

He frowns. “It’s from Frankie’s. Everybody loves Frankie’s burgers.”

“Clearly not everyone.”

His brows knit like he can’t believe I refused the food he bought.

“You don’t want it?” He actually sounds hurt.

“No, I don’t.”

“Why?”

I lift my book bag from the ground and point to one of the many political cause buttons I have covering the knitted tote my mom made for me.

He barely acknowledges it. “What is that supposed to mean?”

Now I’m the one who’s frowning. “Meat is murder. It’s a slogan. It means that I don’t eat animal flesh.”

“You’re one of those vegans?” He doesn’t bother hiding the condescension in his voice.

“Technically I’m a vegetarian. I eat free range, organic dairy products.”

“Fine. I’ll eat the burger.” He glares at me as he opens the second container and takes a huge bite of the burger.

I’m appalled until I notice that he slyly pushes both containers away and doesn’t take another bite of either burger.

“I guess I should have brought an apple for the teacher.”

“Only if it’s organic. And I’m not actually a teacher. I’m a tutor.”

We both stare at each other for a long moment. Awkward does not even begin to describe our pairing. We’re like two people from different planets trying to communicate when we don’t speak each other’s languages.

I remove a slip of paper from my bag. “Mr. Ambrose gave me your schedule of classes for the semester. You’re taking Film Appreciation, The History of Jazz, Advanced Yoga and Stress Management. What’s your major?”

He shrugs. “Undeclared right now. But I’ll probably go with Sports Management.”

“So these are Gen Ed classes?”

He cocks his head and looks confused.

“General Education classes,” I clarify. “Elective classes you need to take to fulfill requirements that aren’t directly related to your major.”

“I guess so.”

I’m a little disturbed by his lackadaisical attitude, but I let it go for the moment. We’re clearly not going to be able to develop much of a rapport so maybe it’s best just to get down to business.

“We’re just handed a class schedule,” he clarifies. “Assigned classes. We don’t pick them ourselves.”

“And they assigned you the History of Jazz? That’s the class that you’re having trouble with?”

“The dude who was supposed to teach the class croaked and they got this new chick who apparently doesn’t like basketball.”

There is so much wrong with his statement I don’t even know where to begin. “Might I suggest that you call your professors either professor or doctor and not chick.”

I bristle at my own use of the derogatory word, but I continue, “And what does her not liking basketball have to do with your performance in the class.”

At this he gives me a sly smile. “Let’s just say she’s not willing to play ball the way the other professors are.”

I’m not sure exactly what he means by that, but there seems to be some kind of sports reference that is lost on me.

“So you’re saying your other classes are going well and you’re just having trouble with the one class, History of Jazz?”

He leans back in his chair and eyes me for a few seconds before he nods. I don’t like when he looks at me like that. It’s like he’s examining some weird, new specimen and trying to make sense of it.

“All of my other teachers are huge basketball fans and they know I’m the in the starting lineup. I’m not sure what the jazz goddess’s problem is.”

I take in a deep breath before I say something that’s sure to get me fired. “Why don’t we start by calling her Dr. Fisher? I think that might help. And why do you think she has a problem?”

“She doesn’t like basketball. That’s not normal. Everybody loves basketball. This entire campus lives and breathes the sport.”

“I don’t love basketball. I don’t even like it. Not even a little bit.”

He actually looks stunned for a moment. Like I slapped him. Then he regains his cocky composure.

“You’re one weird chick,” he mutters almost to himself, but still loud enough that I can hear him.

“Excuse me?” I say even though I heard him. I just didn’t like having an insult hurled at me by someone I don’t even know.

“You. Are. One. Weird. Chick.” His words are slower and louder as if I didn’t hear him the first time.

“I actually heard what you said. I just didn’t like it.”

A smug smirk appears on his face that I would love to slap right off if I could.

I continue. “In case you haven’t noticed I’m not a bird I’m a human being. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t refer to me as a chick.”

He bites his bottom lip as if he’s actually giving it some thought. Then he says, “You’re one weird woman. Is that better?”

“I’m not sure why you have to bring gender into the equation at all. Why not just call me a weird person?”

That makes him laugh. “You don’t care that I think you’re weird. You just don’t want me to call you a chick?”

“I’ve been weird my whole life. I’m used to it.”

“At least you’re willing to own it.”

“So did you bring your textbook with you or are you just going to spend the next ninety minutes taunting me?”

“I kind of like taunting you.”

Chasing December Blog Tour @EMontgomeryAuth #authorinterview

Title: Chasing December
Author: E. Montgomery
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber's Tours

When December had had her fill of bad boyfriends, she cashed in her savings and made her dream a reality. She is now the proud owner of December’s Light, the towns first candle boutique. Entrepreneurship has left little time for play – or men – over the last two years.

Chase, the new guy in town, stumbles upon December’s Light while on the search for a birthday gift for his sister. He finds a lot more than the perfect scented candle inside the shop though.

But can December allow her heart to open up to this man after she learns his secret?

Author E. Montgomery was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and raised a hop, skip, and a jump away in Yorktown, Virginia. Paranormal inspiration was easily obtained during her childhood in these colorful towns. This helped to spur her love of Paranormal romance stories, but she also enjoys reading YA and NA.

She is currently raising four children and a husband while elbow-deep in the task of finishing the many books to come out in 2015. You can often find her searching on Google for an appropriate, or sometimes inappropriate, photo to insert in any random conversation. If not on Google, or Facebook chat, she can be found drinking coffee (like any normal writer), eating Gummy Bears, baking fanciful cakes, reading (of course), or writing (duh).
"I always wondered what authors meant when they said that their characters tell them what to write - I get it now!"

“Well, December, I’m Chase, can I buy you a cup of coffee after work? I just got to town, working on the big building that’s going up in town and you happen to be the first person I’ve met,” he said as he grabbed the Winter Snowflake Collection basket. “This should do, she likes snowflakes.”

“I’ll ring you up at the counter,” I said as I walked around the display case to the register. “Thirty five even is your total, did you want this gift wrapped?”

“No gift wrap today, but I would like that coffee tonight,” he said with a smile so wide it looked like he was posing for a toothpaste ad.

“Um,” I hesitated.

“She’d love to, what time?” Lumi came up behind me wrapping her arm around my shoulders. I was going to beat her as soon as this man left!

“Great!” He exclaimed, never taking his eyes off mine, “I get off work at seven so pick you up at seven thirty? I have to run home and take a shower, I’m with the builders down the road,” He said holding up the palms of his hands, that were in fact pretty dirty.

“I guess a cup of coffee wouldn’t hurt, seven thirty is good,” I couldn’t believe I gave in that easily. He was pretty to look at though; a little eye candy to commit to memory for my lonely nights in bed may not be such a bad idea.

“Alright, I’ll see you then,” he turned and walked out the door and I let out a sigh.

“Squee!” Lumi shrieked as she bounded over to me clapping her hands like she was a two year old that just saw Santa for the first time.

INTERVIEW

1. You're stranded on an island with one antagonist from any one of your books. Who would you choose and why?
Julian from my Dyphillum Series (Being re-released in March). I would choose him because he is jerkface but he has a heart and he’s funny so that helps.

2. If you were to name your child after any book character, what would you name him/her?
Actually I would have to say Araya…she is a MC in an upcoming secret project!

3. Have you ever gotten a book inspired tattoo? If no, would you? If yes, would you get another?
Technically no, but I do have Amare Aeriter tattooed on both of my wrists, I have always been obsessed with the Latin language and it has filtered into my books here and there.

4. Is there any one thing you seriously can't live without? Air, general food, sleep, and water don't count.
Coffee, I tried to give it up once and thought I was losing my mind…that mistake will never happen again haha!

5. Have you ever reached a point during your writing where you've been so utterly frustrated/drained/ill that you considered giving it up?
Not to the point where I would give up, I could never give up. Even if I didn’t sell my books I would still write them, the characters never stop talking and finding new friends to throw me off with new book ideas.

6. If you were a superhero, what would be your powers and why?
I feel like I should say fight crime or solve world hunger, but honestly my super power would be to not require sleep and be fully energized all the time…reason being, I am a mom of 4 and a pediatric nurse on top of being a writer…hence the giving up coffee fail.

7. What are some traits that you put in your characters that are actual requirements in your own life (if man shopping, that is)?
Laid back, that is my number one requirement. I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants type of person with a lil dash of anxiety over everything so I need the calmness to balance me out.

8. Is there a physical trait that most people find unappealing that you actually find sexy?
Hmmm..I don’t think so but it wouldn’t surprise me lol

9. What's your biggest pet peeve?
Repetition, whether it’s someone tapping a pen or taking 4 lefts when driving or just regular daily activities…which is weird because I like a schedule but not a repetitious one!

10.If you got to choose how you died, what would be your way out?
Eeekk! That’s scary but I would have to be lamesauce and say in my sleep. I’m not an adrenaline junky so I have no desire to die while having “fun”…yes, in my sleep preferably with clean underwear on.

I opened my door and before anyone else spotted us, shoved him inside. When you he lock clicked in place, I felt him come up behind me.

“No one’s gonna hear us right now, are they?” His warm breath over my ear made me shiver and everything around me seemed to heighten in response.

“Ha-ha. Ha-ha. I don’t think so. I’ve never tested out the wall strength.”

I felt his rock hard cock against me and my eyes shut at the hard strength. I knew without a doubt I wanted another go and I might just get it right now.

His hands caressed and tendered some of the tension in my shoulders before caressing down my back, tracing my curves until his fingers found their way into the band of my jeans.

His lips found the pressure point on my neck, kissing a line up to my ear before tugging on it gently.

His hands were warm as they skirted back and forth and then he undid my belt with swift, easy proficiency.

“Okay, sweetness?”

“Yes!” My mouth hissed out the reply and I just wanted him to hurry. He was making my blood boil. He skimmed down my jeans and panties until they were resting tightly around my thighs. I didn't need him to check to see if I was wet. I already felt my arousal leaking from my core, coating my vagina and inner thighs.

But he did anyway. His hand was hot to the touch as he slipped two fingers between my legs, circulating my juices and drawing his fingers up to my clit where he tried gripping it, but my slickness would only allow hard pressured massaging.

“Fuck, you're so damn wet for me. Keep your legs spread just like this for me. ‘Kay, sweetness?”

I nodded my head and leaned it against the door. His hands drew up my shirt and he tossed it over his shoulder. I felt his fingers dance down my neck and shoulder blades to unclasp my plain (ugh. Have to buy sexy under things) bra and threw it towards my shirt. The swift coolness toughened my nipples until they were stiff peaks.

Graham didn't tease them but instead, he cupped my breasts and massaged the swells until my breath was unbalanced. Then his hands fell away and I heard rustling behind me. Unbuckling, unzipping, and something being ripped open.

Whoa. Was he really going to take me like this? So barbaric and wild? Did I want him to?

My answer?

Hell freaking yes

Excerpt:

Anyone who walks through this place on a Friday night that I don’t know is just passing through. Believe me—I know everyone in this town. I have lived here almost all my life. So when something like that walks through the crappy bar doors, I notice. Hell, every damn woman here notices.

What’s the difference between me and the rest of the women that now swoon over Mr. Hottie-pants who leans casually against the bar? I know damn well that I don’t have a chance in hell. Girls like me? We’re meant for the background. Meant to fade into it and go without notice.

I continue on with my job like any other night—a night where some Adonis doesn’t ooze sex appeal that wafts around like a pheromone-filled cologne. I sneak a peek at him while I bring the zillionth tray to my disorderly customers and he catches me. Shit, he’s hot.

I grab the final glass to fill the small drink tray in my hand (again). My table is a rowdy bunch of college morons and to say they’re drunk is a gross understatement. They’re so drunk that they begin to worry me. After this round I’ll have to send Danny over to cut them off. I don’t get paid enough to do that shit.

“Hey—” a voice slurs as an audible slap sounds. He. Did. Not. Yep—he did! This guy seriously just grabbed my ass. “Put the pitcher here.” He laughs at his own drunken rudeness.

I know that I shouldn’t do anything, but I can’t really stop myself. “I’m sorry.” I say sweetly. “Where did you want this pitcher?” The fucker points to the table in front of him with a smile on his face…a smile that quickly changes to a look of shock when I proceed to pour the entire contents of the pitcher over his head.

“You bitch!” The guy screams and flips the table as he stands with more speed than someone as drunk as him should.

Uh-oh. See—this is why I’m not supposed to do this. Danny (aka my boss/bar owner/bouncer) is busy across the bar. The drunken beer-covered fool in front of me is hella-pissed and towers over me. Whoops!

You think that’s enough to give me pause, make me back down or shut the fuck up? Nope, not me. See, that makes sense and I’m not a fan of that at all. “I’m sorry!” I say brashly. “I assumed when you grabbed my ass you wanted to wear your beer.”

The man raises his hand high above him and I know what comes next. I don’t flinch though—instead I stand my ground. The group of friends behind him splits. Half of them try to calm him while the other half eggs him on. Maybe a second before the drunken asshole’s fist crashes into me an even larger more impressive hand shoots out from behind me. I expect to see Danny behind me so I’m quite speechless when I see the gorgeous piece of man from the bar instead.

~Jordan

She manages to maintain her blissful ignorance for quite some time, but eventually she must face her fate, particularly when circumstances throw it in her face, making it impossible to ignore. Lettie comes to the realization that she has to make some decisions. And these choices have an unimaginable domino effect, not just for her—but for humanity.

Thrust into having a new outlook on an imperfect world, Lettie discovers strength inside of her, unlike anything else. Her path of self-discovery is also the path to her salvation. With the help of a few friends, Lettie discovers herself, and what she is capable of.
