The second I saw the man Trevor was salivating over step onto the curb and adjust his mirrored shades, it triggered a memory. As did his spectacular body beneath his tight, long-sleeved shirt—nary an inch of skin showing. Not to mention his chiseled face that had a light dusting of whiskers around the chin—a face I’d thought I’d never see again. Only now, fully dressed, he gave off more of a paramilitary vibe. Maybe I’d forgotten the scary aspects about him, but his looks still lingered in my mind all these months later.

“I think I know him,” I said under my breath.

Four months ago, I gave Lexi a ride home. Reno Cole, Austin’s brother, was outside throwing horseshoes in the yard without a shirt on. A thin sheen of sweat covered his broad torso, which was the only thing I noticed since he was wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat. I had a “stupid” attack and almost tripped in front of him. I’d never felt more intimidated by a man’s presence in my life. I felt cowardly and my mouth refused to work, and when it finally did, I mentioned something about the heat like I was a walking weathergirl. Reno’s fit body spanned just over six feet, but his expression was tight and menacing. I shamelessly fled the scene, but the tire on my car wedged into a pothole. He stalked over as if he might rip my car door off and pummel me for messing up their driveway.

But he didn't. He pushed the car free and I never saw him again.

Fingers snapped in front of my face and Trevor gave me a killer smile. “Nice to see you still have a pulse. I was beginning to think your libido took a permanent vacation."

About the Author

This is the segment where you learn a little more about who I am, so here's what I can tell you:  I drink copious amounts of vitamin water placed precariously close to my laptop while writing. These are two healthy habits I have no intention of breaking. I'm a transplant living in the south, but I was born in the 70's to a military dad who moved us around the world.

When I'm not writing (which is all the time), I'm hunting down Indie music, watching movies, reading, eating Tex-Mex, discovering new ways to humiliate myself bowling, and burning up my laptop battery on the Internet. I have a relaxed, easy-going personality and don't like drama. I live with a cat who thinks she is a dog, or a goat (she eats plastic, so I'm not sure which).

Throughout my life, I've had insomnia. Counting sheep never worked and eventually I would imagine those sheep were the sole source of food after an apocalyptic battle where only thousands survived. I made up stories in a futile attempt to bore myself to sleep. The problem was, I got so wrapped up in my "head stories" that I would continue them through the following nights, changing it up each time to make it more exciting. Eventually, I started writing my ideas down - creating short stories, and then I discovered my love for poetry.

It's almost embarrassing how many spiral notebooks and stacks of paper I have of poetry and lyrics.

Another passion: digital art. I design all my book covers, marketing, and series art. I'm a very visual person and pursued photography as an avid hobby for many years.

I am not a YA author (I feel like I have to state this only because I've had a few people ask), but I think it's wonderful there are so many books available to teens in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal.

I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do: giving my characters a pulse through writing full time. I focus on adult urban fantasy romance, but I don't like labels and I enjoy blending genres to break out of the confines of predictability.

But it's what I love to do.

Crossroads Promo @Paigematthews_3

Caleb Cross is not your typical front man. His is not the bad boy, partying, love ‘em and leave ‘em persona, although his public image states otherwise. Being the lead singer of the popular rock band, Double Cross, there are a lot of things the fans and the public do not know about Caleb. Sure, he likes to have a little fun now and again, but after a publicity stunt goes wrong, he is determined to shed the ultra-bad boy image.

Katherine "Kat" Summers is not a typical woman. Not a girl who gets star struck or easily impressed, Kat is content with being herself and who she is. When Kat's company is hired by Caleb Cross to rebrand him, she finds herself re-evaluating everything she knows about herself and about her life. Trying to maintain who she is against what she begins to desire, proves to be difficult for her.

For Caleb, hiring a new publicist to help reshape his image was the easy part. What he didn’t count on was being reunited with the one girl that made him question everything about himself. He’s forced to confront himself once more, in order to learn what he truly wants, and who he truly is.

“This one looks good.” Reese was modeling a ring on her finger. “I think she’ll like it.”

I glanced over and shook my head, “Not big enough.” I turned my attention back to the saleswoman. It had only been a week since she left me and she was still not answering my calls, sending them to voicemail. After leaving about twenty messages, I decided to stop harassing her. Instead, I put my plan into motion. I was relieved that I hadn’t heard anything from Camie in a week and partially relieved that nothing had been leaked to the press about whatever thing she thought she was going to tell them. I refused to put any more money into her account and she wasn’t too pleased.

“Earth to Caleb…” Reese moved her head back and forth attempting to capture my attention.

“Yeah, what’s up?” I asked.

“How about this one?” she asked holding up another solitaire. I walked over to her and in her hand she held a two and half carat, square cut, and platinum set solitaire, lined with diamonds in the band. A simple, yet very elegant look.

“I like that one. It’s her, simple and chic.” I turned to the saleswoman. “I’ll take this one. Add a matching diamond pendant with it.” She simply nodded her head and took off in back. Reese hugged me.

“What was that for?” I asked hugging her back.

“Just because.” She smiled and we broke apart as the attendant returned with my purchases. I handed her my black Amex and paid. Reese grabbed the bag and we left the store.

“I just wish she’d return my calls,” I mumbled as we strolled down Rodeo Dr.

“Give her some time, Caleb. She’ll come around. What do you have planned for when you go back?” She asked as she stopped to window shop.

“I don’t know yet. I figured I had a week or so to figure it out.” Reese nodded and pulled me into a floral shop. “What are we doing here?”

“You’re going to send her flowers.” She said matter of fact.

“Yeah, I don’t think that is a good idea. Won’t that come across cheesy?” I said as Reese moved around the shop looking at the arrangements.

“Nope. Give me your credit card.” Demanding little one she was. I handed her my card and she strolled off to speak with the girl at the counter. I looked at my phone, checking to see if there was anything response from Kat, anything.

Reese returned a few moments later. “What’s the good word?” I asked.

“You have sent a dozen roses every other day for the next two weeks until you return.” I shook my head.

“Are you insane? She’s going to kill me, or refuse to talk to me.”

“Or she won’t. She’ll see your persistence.” Reese walked out of the shop and I followed.

“Or she’ll think I’m stalking her. You do remember what she is like right?” Concern breaking through my voice.

“Calm down, Caleb. I know what I was doing. Let’s get some lunch.” Her hands were on her hips, the sun graced her hair, which was now blond with a chunk of black and a chunk of pink in the front. I nodded and laughed, walking in the direction of our favorite spot. Reese was a spit fire, always has been. I was glad to have her on my side.

 “Lindsey, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, sir. I’m doing well.”
“Come talk to me.” His grandfather turned and walked into the living room.
Did he want to talk? He’d have to be careful, but yes. Pop-Pop was a smart man. He walked down the stairs and into the large, comfortable room. His grandfather sat on a love seat at one end of the room, so he took the identical seat across from him. He leaned back and crossed his legs. Look relaxed.
Pop-Pop sat forward. “Romantic troubles?”
Wow. The old man had a way of diving to the truth. “Not exactly.”
“I heard you had a date with the Westerberg son. Your mother’s doing, I believe.” The old man could have been talking about a date with a girl, he was so comfortable with it.
“Yes, sir.”
“Did you like him?”
“Well enough.”
“Ah, so he’s not the issue.”
Lindsey grinned. His grandfather was enjoying the guessing game.
“So if it’s not exactly romantic troubles, what exactly is it?”
“I guess you could call it unrequited romantic interest.”
He rubbed his hands together. “Now this is interesting. I've seen you with many men over the years since you returned from school, but none of them lasted more than a few dates, and none of them ever sparked what I would call romantic interest. How odd that you should affix your affection on one who doesn't care about you. Have you considered it might be a form of self-protection? Only wanting the ones you can’t have has a way of keeping you single.”
Lindsey grinned. “I guess that’s possible sometimes, but not in this case. He’s just highly inappropriate. A tough cop I met while helping Dave with the kidnapping issue. Dave asked if I would take him to the polo match to give him a chance to investigate among people we know without being too obvious. So I did it.” Lindsey shrugged.
“And got caught in your own trap.”
He smiled, but it hurt around the edges. “Yes, I guess. I found him attractive from the start but assumed he was straight, so it was just a harmless flirtation. After the match, I found out he’s gay, so that made the vast expanse between us more real.”
Pop-Pop frowned. “It’s not like you to discriminate based on class.”
“Nothing like that, sir. He’s the one discriminating, I’m sure. I’m simply not at all his type. A bit too lavender silk for his black leather, shall we say.”
His grandfather steepled his fingers and stared over them. “You’re not just one thing, Lindsey. I've know many men in my life and you’re one of the very best. Smart, decisive, action-oriented, kind, and basically good. Unlike your father, I might add. You need a man who sees that. But you've got good judgment, so if you think this cop is romance-worthy, then my bet is there’s something there worth pursuing. Ride him down, son!” He laughed that big robust sound that had comforted Lindsey since the day he was born.

Haunted by Her Dragon Cover Reveal @juliamills623

Haunted by her Dragon - cover reveal banner

Dragon_FINAL_03012014_WEBLife has never been easy for Dr. Samantha Malone especially since the day all those years ago that her only family were taken in a car accident. Now at almost twenty-nine years of age, with only one year of residency left, she is faced with putting her life back together once again after being kidnapped and left for dead. Had it not been for six feet two inches of walking muscle in ripped jeans and worn cowboy boots with crystal blue eyes and a cheeky grin that made her wonder what he was up to, she might never have seen the light of day. All these months later she knows he is protecting her from the shadows, never far but never seen. Why? What does he know that she does not?

There are no coincidences.

He protects her from afar, making sure the ones that dared to hurt her do not come back while he waits for the time when he can claim her as his own. Fear is not something the fierce Dragon Guardsman is used to feeling but it is something he has become accustomed to over the last seven months. Fear that he will not catch the traitor and his cohorts before they hurt those he cares most deeply for. Fear that he will not be able to protect the one the Universe made especially for him. Fear that he is not what Samantha needs but then…

The Universe does not make mistakes.

Lance has spent his long life cracking jokes and making fun of his brethren as each succumbed to the sappiness of everlasting love with the one that completes them like no other. Now the Universe is the one laughing and his fellow Guardsmen are the ones badgering him with the jokes as the mating call and his dragon push him headlong towards the one that will bring light to his soul in this life and the next. He can no longer deny that he is meant to spend the rest of his many years with Sam but his obligation to eliminate any threats to her life must come first…right? For the Guardsman who has hot-dogged his way through one hundred and twelve years, one brown-eyed curly-headed doctor will make him rethink everything he ever knew.

Fate will not be denied.

Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come! I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters, a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked. I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance. I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

“I know what I want.” Her voice was soft. Seductive.
            Drake stopped.
“I-I have to ask, though…is that the way it works?”
            His back teeth clenched.
“The ladies you take upstairs to your private room…they all ask?”
Those women knew the rules going in. Sex. Hot. Fast. Hard. No promises. No ties.
Ties were the last thing he wanted.
He turned back to look at her.  “You came to this place looking for me.”
            She backed up a bit.
He let his lips curl and knew his smile wasn't going to be reassuring. “Be very careful. You don’t want to play with me.”
He expected her to scurry away then.
But her chin notched into the air. “Maybe I do,” she said and her voice made his cock jerk. Sex and sin—that was what she sounded like just then.

About the Author

USA Today Best-selling author Cynthia Eden has written over twenty-five novels and novellas. She was named as a 2013 RITA® finalist for her paranormal romance, ANGEL IN CHAINS, and, in 2011, Cynthia Eden was a RITA finalist for her romantic suspense, DEADLY FEAR.

Cynthia’s foreign sales for her books include translations to Japan, Germany, Thailand, Greece, and Brazil.
(Back in the day…) Cynthia graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama where she studied Sociology (because people interest her) and Communication (because she likes to write about said people).  Cynthia has worked as a college admissions counselor, a teacher, and as an editor. But now, Cynthia is thrilled to be spending her days making up stories.
